No tutorials today, but a very special Happy Birthday to the most wonderful person in the world.... My Husband Brandon (Beeg). He's the funniest, most compassionate, caring, loving, thoughtful person I've ever known. I hope he has a great day and many more happy years to come. I love you Beeg! Happy, Happy Birthday!

Mirror Makeover

My husband and I bought this mirror back in 2004 when we first moved in together. It once had hooks on it that we would hang our keys on. Again, I was getting ahead of myself. Before I started taking pictures, I removed the hooks. See, here are the holes. I no longer wanted it as a key holder, just a mirror. So, my husband took some putty, filled in the holes and gave the whole thing a good sanding. I love when he does projects with me. All sanded, now it just needed to be taped off so the mirror wouldn't get paint on it. Prepped and ready! I just used a paint by Folk Art called Dove Grey. After it dried for about two hours, I gave it a good sanding.... and I have a cute, shabby chic mirror to put on our shelf. I love taking old things and giving them an updated look!

Decorating with Eggs

So, not everything I blog about is something that I've created. Some things I just throw together just because it looks cute. For example, I found and egg garland at a thrift store just recently. I clipped off the eggs, stuck them into this cheese dome....easy, easy!

* on that note, I did makeover this cheese dome from a previous makeover...I'll do a tutorial on it soon. These eggs are from Hobby Lobby. I love that store and can't wait to go back! With these, I just put them in a glass hurricane.
I took a few smaller ones and put them in another hurricane with some stones and those fake mossy rocks from the dollar store.
This cute little candy dish I got at Safeway last year! I'll put candy in him on Easter, but for now(since I have two little boys that would help themselves to anything I put in there)

I just filled it with more of those thrift store eggs I clipped from a garland.
Cute!

These are just some easy ideas anyone can do.

Little, Yellow Birdhouse

{just a quick tutorial}

This was a really quick little project. I found this cute birdhouse at JoAnn Fabrics for $1. Dollar sections make me HAPPY!

{Can you tell I was anxious to get it done? I forgot to take a picture before I started painting} I chose a light Yellow and White, let it dry and gave it a bit of sanding.... So simple! It looks really cute up on the shelf with the rest of my Easter decor.

POTTERY BARN

{on a budget}

I saw this in a Pottery Barn catalog for

$79.00

YIKES!

When I was at Walmart last night, I saw this beauty for

$14.99

YES!

Might not be as great of quality Pottery Barn could give you,

but for my budget...it's pretty close!
