Chocolate Crinkles
These oh, so delicious cookies will always remind me of my Aunt Kathy. I loved these cookies when I was younger and the only person in our family that ever made them was my Aunt. I've never attempted to make them and decided this year I would give it a try. Trust me...this recipe is so, so good! They remind me of a gooey brownie, but topped with powdered sugar. How bad can that be?! I hope you'll give these a try. Here is the recipe.
MIX TOGETHER:
1 Cup Cocoa Powder
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Veggie Oil
BEAT IN
4 Eggs(one at a time)
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
COMBINE IN A SEPARATE BOWL
2 Cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
ADD DRY INGREDIENTS TO WET INGREDIENTS
* Cover dough and let chill for 2-4 hours
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees
-Either line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or cooking spray
-Roll dough into 1 inch balls and then roll in 3/4 Cup powdered sugar
Bake 12-13 min.
EAT AND ENJOY

  5. These were my very FAVORITE Christmas cookie as a child! I was always so amazed when I was little how the cookies would crack. My mom made them EVERY year, and now I'm going to have to start the tradition with my own kiddos... thanks for the reminder! I'm your newest follower, too! Thanks so much and Merry Crinkle Christmas!!!

  12. I thought I'd just comment and say tonight I used this recipe to bake some cookies for a cookie swap next weekend. I ended up quadrupling the recipe...ending up with 13 dozen!!! Haha...way more than I was expecting. But they're tasty!

  13. There's a way easy way to make these and they taste just the same -
1 8oz tub of cool whip
1 box of chocolate cake mix
    1 egg

a small bowl of powdered sugar to roll the batter in.

Mix all the ingredients (except the powdered sugar) till they combine into a sticky dough. Scoop out small balls of batter and put into the sugar, roll to coat. Put on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes. It's hard to mess this recipe up, but you do have to find out what time your particular oven needs. 11 minutes 30 seconds is perfect in mine, but it will vary. I get 3 dozen medium sized cookies from this. :) Merry Christmas y'all!!
